How to Order your Prescription
As of October 1st 2021, the dispensary can no longer accept prescription orders or requests over the telephone.
The dispensary phone line will still be available however this will be for urgent and non-urgent medication queries only.
These are the alternative ways to order in future.
1: Download the NHS app https://www.nhs.uk/apps-library/nhs-app/
2: Enquire at reception to get Patient Access to your records.
3: Drop your right hand side of your repeat prescription list in to our prescription request box at Maude Street or Helme Chase.
4: Write a list of the medications you need and put it in the post to us at Helme Chase.
Collecting your Prescription
At the moment, prescriptions will only be able to be collected from our Helme Chase Dispensary (opening hours 8am-6.30pm). We also ask that if you pay for your prescriptions, please use contactless to pay where possible to limit contact where possible due to COVID-19.
Please note it takes a minimum of 2 working days for a repeat prescription request to be processed, and a little longer if you collect your medication from a Pharmacy. If the prescription has been requested by the hospital, please allow at least 4 working days for this to be processed.
If your prescription request is NOT on your repeat prescription, your request could take longer to process and the doctor may wish to speak with you.
Our delivery drivers and dispensary team are working really hard to keep up with the number of medication deliveries with reduced staffing levels. This means that we are only able to provide delivery services to housebound patients or those with very limited capacity to collect. If you would like further information or to apply, please contact the dispensary team on 01539 718 080 and press option 2.
Repeat prescriptions may have a review date printed on them. This review date is a reminder of when you should arrange an appointment to review your medication with either a clinical pharmacist or a nurse specialist. If you notice that your review date is approaching, please speak to a member of the team who will arrange your appointment and any monitoring tests that maybe required. In keeping with safe prescribing, if your medication review becomes overdue it may be necessary for us to reduce your prescriptions to weekly quantities, until you have your medication review.
Contact us if you have any queries about your medication on 01539 718080 (Option 2)
Please note that as of October 1st 2021, we cannot take orders or requests for medication via telephone. Please see the above methods of ordering a prescription for more information.
Emergency Prescription Requests
