Dr Heather Wood

I was born and brought up in Glasgow and studied Medicine for 3 years at St Andrews University, gaining a Bsc. In Medical Science. I then went on to complete my medical degree at the University of Manchester qualifying in 2002. I completed my hospital training in Bolton and Lancaster and completed my GP training in Lancaster, fully qualifying as a GP in 2007. I initially worked as a locum before commencing a salaried post at Park View Surgery in Milnthorpe, where I still work 3 days a week to date. I was pleased to join the James Cochrane team in 2018 to help out with their provision of Woman’s Health services. Outside of work I enjoy bringing up my family and love all the benefits of living in the Lakes, especially outdoor swimming and cycling.
