JCP_Logo.JPGWelcome to the James Cochrane Practice

Maude Street Surgery

At the James Cochrane Surgery in Kendal, the doctors and nurses take pride in offering the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.  We run many clinics for chronic disease care and offer a wide variety of other medical services such as antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

Helme Chase Surgery

In addition to everything you need to know about the practice you will also find a wealth of health-related information in the menu on the right hand side.

Please have a look around and do send us some feedback if you like.

The practice has two surgeries in Kendal; Maude Street and Helme Chase.

All our services are available at both surgeries.

Dr Ostick

Dear patient

Dr Sue Ostick left the Practice at the end of March this year, .

She is clearly going to be missed by Partner colleagues, staff and her patients.

Dr Helen Darby is taking 9 months maternity leave from April this year.

Dr Paul Atkinson; presently a GP working at Captain French Lane surgery, Kendal, will be joining the Practice as Partner, but this will not occur until 1st August this year.

We would like to reassure patients that there will be additional doctors; Dr Steve Green, Dr Carol Robinson and Dr Adam Sandell are providing cover and support for patients during this interim period.

We now have an automated patient check-in service available at our Helme Chase Surgery.  This is very easy to use and will allow you to check-in for your appointment by asking you for some simple information such as your gender and date of birth.  We would like to encourage patients to use this system but the receptionists will be on hand at the desk to assist you and to help you with any other requirements.

Health services in South Lakeland are introducing ‘shared records’.

South Lakeland will be distributing a leaflet to all households in the SouthLakes area which explains the shared records scheme.

Shared records allow healthcare professionals to share some limited information from your medical records with other health services that provide you with care.

Please note; At present; the James Cochrane Practice has decided not sign up to this agreement and allow patient data to be shared, however we do hope to sign up and participate in this scheme, in the near future.

For patient queries arising from the leaflet drop, patients can ring the PCT Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0300 1239006

For further information on the Shared Records scheme please click on the shared record tab on the right of this page.
