Winter pressures mean high demand for our services
Like every part of the NHS, it is a challenge for us to meet all the demand for our services. At present the demand for our services is extremely high, this is due to an increase in seasonal illnesses, and staff sickness (you’ve heard of the expression “winter pressures”). Seasonal illness affects us as well as patients, and if our clinicians are off sick, the same thing that drives increased demand on our services unfortunately means that we have less capacity to deal with it.
So, we need your help…
Please be reassured, if you feel your problem needs to be dealt with urgently we WILL try our very best to see you this week.
However, if your problem is not urgent, we ask that you please bear with us. It is likely that you will have to wait until the following week to be seen. Help us by letting us know your availability in advance so that we can arrange a suitable appointment for you.
Don’t forget that:
- The NHS website has lots of really useful information https://www.nhs.uk/
- Your local pharmacist is a trained healthcare professional, who can consult with you about a range of minor illnesses https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/nhs-services/pharmacies/what-to-expect-from-your-pharmacy-team/
- If you require urgent advice and medical assessment when we are closed, the NHS 111 service can be contacted by calling 111
Thank you for your support, from all at The James Cochrane Practice.
